Description of Orion SpaceProbe 3, 3" (76mm) F/9.2 (700mm) AZ...

Among the optical telescopes we tested, the SpaceProbe 3 was neither among the easiest nor the most difficult to assemble. It does require tools to put it together. Orion includes a helpful video on the manufacturer's website that walks you through assembly, and even with that assistance, it takes about 30 minutes.
It's among the lighter scopes we tested, weighing 16.6 pounds; however, it isn't the most stable telescope. During our testing, we experienced wind, which caused some shifting and blurring.
The SpaceProbe 3 telescope doesn't have electronic components to help you zero in on specific objects, but it does come with computer software that contains simulations and helpful explanations. Like other telescopes without computerized components, it's missing motorized movement and an object library.
Orion offers a one-year warranty, guaranteeing the telescope is free from defects. Orion's customer service is easy to access; there is a live chat feature, and you can reach support by phone and email. They also include a digital copy of the manual online for easy reference plus some instructional videos to help assemble and maintain your telescope.
Despite missing some of the key features of the best telescopes, the SpaceProbe 3 is a good telescope for smaller budgets and enthusiasts willing to do the work to find stars on their own. The movement is really nice, and the optics are great for this class of telescope. You don't have any electrical components that can make setup quick and help out beginners, but if your only concern is getting an image, the Orion SpaceProbe 3 is a solid beginner's telescope.
This telescope is a good beginner's telescope for those who are happy to do all the work finding and identifying objects.
Orion's SpaceProbe 3 is a good telescope for beginners. Without any digital assistance, however, it requires a lot more work to find objects in the sky.

The SpaceProbe 3 is an equatorial mount telescope, meaning one of the rotational axes is parallel to Earth's rotation. A reflecting telescope bounces light from a curved mirror into the viewing eyepiece. With reflecting telescopes, you get a large opening that allows for a lot of light and a bright image.
The telescope has a 3-inch diameter and 700 mm focal length, which is a sufficient aperture to see Saturn and the brightest of the deep-sky objects like the Andromeda galaxy. It generally snapped into focus with little bleeding and gave a good image, particularly for a lower-priced telescope.
